This was so easy but tastes so decadent! I found it a tad too sweet even after decreasing the amount of sugar. I think next time I will only use 1 tbsp of chocolate chips. I also sprinkled cinnamon into the dry ingredients. Thanks for a yummy recipe!
This was so fast and easy. I found it to be too sweet. I will definitely cut back to 1 TBS of chocolate chips and maybe decrease the sugar.
Halfway through making this I realized I didn’t have applesauce so I used mashed bananas and it worked fine.
OH MY GOD! That’s all I can say! Thank you for posting this!
This is easy and hits the spot for that sweet craving in no time!
I used what I had on hand so i used coconut sugar, used a flax egg instead of apple sauce
. ( 1flax egg is 1Tbsp flaxmeal mixed with 3Tbsp water) and i used regular flour.
Thank you for this recipe ?
This is sooooi yummy, thank you for sharing!!
Oh my gosh, thank you! This is delicious and lightening fast to whip up! It’s a keeper!
Sooooo yummy! Very easy to make for a quick chocolate hit!
Absolutely hits the spot
I really enjoyed this recipe….I used date paste instead of cane sugar and used pumpkin instead of apple sauce. I only used 1 1/2 tbsp of chocolate chips. It turned out great!!
Thank you for this treat.

A big hit on Thanksgiving! Added a piece of dark chocolate in the center and baked them (instead of the microwave) in ramekins. Going to make them on Christmas Eve again! Thank you, Kiki!!!
How long did you bake them for and on what temperature please?
We just love this recipe, thanks a lot!!!
Delicious!
My son devoured the Chocolate Mug Cake! He loved that he could make his own little dessert in his own ramekin. I look forward to more inspiring recipes like this one!
I’ve tried this with Oat Flour and Carob and its amazing.
Oh and date sugar and everyone loves it
Happy NY Kiki,
If I want to make two at the same time do I just double the amount? Then how much time in the microwave with 2 mugs.
From a huge fan x
I have no microwave. Is it also possible to make in the oven? Degrees and time? ?

Thank you, Kiki! I love this recipe! I use just 1 TBSP of mini chocolate chips and it’s perfectly sweet for me. I also think it’s perfect at 50 seconds in the microwave – makes a moist, spongy cake which we all love.
Delicious. Thank you for sharing another great recipe.
Great recipe! Maybe a little too much chocolate even for me, so I might reduce the cocoa a little next time.
I am not sure, but hopefully someone has tried and can share with everyone!
Awesome recipe! I swapped coconut sugar in place of the cane sugar and it was fantastic as written. Thanks for such a quick delicious dessert.

These were great! I do not have a microwave so I made them in my air fryer. I cooked them in coffee mugs at 3:50 for about nine minutes. They were amazing.
I see in the macros that this has 21 grams of fat…but is that correct?? I have zero expertise in listing those kinds of things, but I feel like that’s a LOT for such a small serving and simple ingredients. Does the fat come from the sugar? The chocolate chips? What is the source for those 21 grams? I’m trying to be very low-fat in my diet and just want to be informed.
This was SO DELICIOUS and I have immediately shared it with my family
I was thinking the same thing regarding the amount of fat grams. Looking at Ghirardelli semi sweet baking chips, there’s only 4.5 grams for 32 chips, so 21 grams of fat seems like it might be overstated a bit.
Has anyone made this on a larger scale with a silicone muffin tin? I am trying to make a dessert for company and need a quantity of 10. It would be nice to make all at the same time in the microwave?
